The Public Assets web site is a project of Tom Tresser. Tom is a Chicago-based educator and organizer who has been working for the public good since 1990. In 2009 he was a lead organizer for No Games Chicago, a grass roots coalition of concerned citizens who worked to defeat the bid for the 2016 Olympics. You can download the inside story of their campaign here (free pdf file). Tom is working with other activists and organizers to fight privatization, defend the commons and work for public prosperity. Their first project is working to establish an Illinois State Bank.
